After his hiding place is discovered by the hijackers, Rook is on the run and desperately trying to stay alive. He receives a message from Colonel Longstreet (who commands the ESS Phobonautis) that forces him to face his conscience.

Rook makes contact with the hijackers to discuss the hostage situation. He shares with the Council what he learns from the conversation, and is prepared to continue when he’s interrupted by an unexpected discovery.
